Skin Cancer Awareness Month

Gateway’s Skin Cancer Awareness month for September has been a success! Due to the amount of employees being exposed to the sun during work hours, Gateway decided to give back and share the importance of protecting your skin properly.

In the month of September, Gateway provided sunscreen to each employee with a card sharing the common signs of skin cancer. Some of our survey crews and drilling team were delivered sunscreen and cookies, as well as the Midland, Texas office and Oklahoma offices. We also attended a safety meeting for the pipeline employees in the field, passing out sunscreen and donuts to start the morning and share facts about skin cancer and how to protect your skin while on the job.

Gateway has given each employee the opportunity to participate in the Save Your Skin 5k and 1-Mile Fun Run to support the Miles for Melanoma of Oklahoma. So far, Gateway is sponsoring 16 people that have signed up to participate and provided “Gateway Gives Back” t-shirts to wear during the run as a team. Funds raised at this family-friendly race benefit MAMOK’s mission to provide the public with education regarding the extreme damaging effects of the sun and tanning devices. As a company, we are proud to participate in such a fun way to give back to our employees and bring awareness to the real live issues of skin cancer today.

Whether in an office or in the field, safety comes first at Gateway. Thank you to all our wonderful, dedicated employees for committing to making safety a priority on a daily basis!
